Oops... Slack Week

Oops a bit of a slack week this past week.  Extra nightshift etc means not much exercise!  Must get back on track tomorrow afternoon after this nightshift!

Back on track!

Good news!  Today I successfully ran WITHOUT ANY KNEE PAIN!!  My knee pain developed just before Christmas and I've not been able to run on flat terrain for more than a few metres before it nearly collapses.  Well... after 5 visits to my Applied Kinesiologist (look it up if you don't know what that is.  Maybe visit one if you haven't already - best treatment I've ever received for any ailment), I'm practically pain free!  Yay!

Tony also had a good run today, so with four and a half months to go, things are looking like they're on track.

Training...

I read an article today whilst at the doctors... A lady had done EBC with her partner.  She started intense training 6 months beforehand - cardio and weights 5 days per week.  Hmmm.  I've only got 4.5 months to go.  Time to pull my head in, methinks!

Erik Weihenmayer - read and watch!

Have read Touch The Top Of The World.  Erik is an inspiration.  Read it!  Also JUST watched Farther Than The Eye Can See.  This is a documentary on Eriks ascent of Everest.  Absolutely loved it!  He's one of my heroes :)

Time to get moving

So, no more Tim Tams.  No more chocolate.  It's only 4 1/2 months of my life - that's all!  I'm assured the sacrifice will be worth it in the end.  And is it really a 'sacrifice' to give up Tim Tams and chocolate when the goal is a trek to Everest Base Camp??  Methinks I have more to gain than I have to lose... Watch this space..
